From Heather Bailey, Recreation Services:

Recreation Services provides fitness & active pursuits for students and community members.  We are looking to expand our repertoire winter 2020 by offering programs that fall into the arts/crafts etc. category.

At this stage of program development, we are seeking any interested parties to come forward with program ideas.  Currently the only limit to ideas would be space and supplies. Examples that we have come up with are; photography, painting, drawing, indigenous arts.

Location: U of M Fort Garry Campus Frank Kennedy Centre – classroom setting (tables, chairs, projector, white boards etc.)

Dates: January 2020 – April 2020.  With the possibility of Spring/Summer/Fall 2020 depending on program success.

Times: TBD – there are times available Monday to Friday between 5-10 pm. This would be dependent on the parties’ availability, and the room availability.

Promotion/Advertising: program(s) are promoted in our Active Living Guide brochure, on the Recreation Services Website and via Rec Services social media outlets.

Our programs are typically 12 weeks long or two sets of 6 weeks. Most programs run one x per week with a set day, time and duration. The typical duration for a class is 1 hour.

Another possible format could be a monthly “art night” participants’ would come for a single night and leave with a finished art project – like the popular paint nights. Duration longer than 1 hour.

Please note: this is a paid position. Rate TBD.

If interested, please submit the following by email:

  1. Resume
  2. Program idea/outline of the program(s) you would offer
  3. Space requirements for your program
  4. Equipment or supply requirements for your program & if you will provide
  5. Preferred day/time/length of session
