Art Workshop Facilitators needed
Siloam Art Studio is a space where community can connect with workshop facilitators to explore their creative side in order to encourage personal insight and feelings of well-being. The studio provides a safe and supportive environment where relationship and skill building are key. Workshop facilitators bring their skills and enthusiasm and genuine interest in supporting people on their journey. Classes include things like painting, drawing, writing, soapstone carving and beading to name a few.
Siloam Mission art workshop facilitators offer guidance and support to attendees at the drop-in to the art studio. Workshops are semi-structured where facilitators may work on their own project in the studio and offer guidance to others who are interested. The important piece to this program is building relationships and being available to offer guidance when asked for.
Your commitment includes:
- Commit to one workshop of 2 hours per week or bi weekly for a minimum of six months
- Have a background or interest in the arts and a willingness to help lead a workshop or larger community art project based on your interests.
- Have a genuine interest in people and in building relationships with community members
- Attend a one-on-one interview, and if selected, attend an orientation to familiarize yourself with Siloam Mission services and take part in a mentor artist orientation.
Art programming happens on a six month rotation between Monday to Friday during the following shifts:
Morning: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm.
Afternoon: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
**Some evening and weekend shifts may be available**
Fall/Winter programming usually runs from September to March and Spring/Summer from April to September. Fall/Winter programming is offered Monday to Friday, and Spring/Summer programming is offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
