Congratulations Kadi Badiou!

Gallery 1C03 welcomes Kadi Badiou

Thanks to funding from the Government of Canada’s Young Canada Works employment program, Gallery 1C03 has been able to hire Curatorial Assistant Intern Kadi Badiou who will be with us for the spring and summer. Kadi has helped organize and install our upcoming exhibition What We Make II and she will be implementing an art camp for inner-city children in partnership with the University of Winnipeg chapter of Let’s TalkKadiBadiou Science and the Winnipeg Boys and Girls Club program Community School Investigators. Kadi will also be conducting research on artworks in the University’s collection.

In June, Kadi will be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours degree from the University of Manitoba with a focus in painting and sculpture. She has shown her art in group exhibitions at Winnipeg venues Flux Gallery, Frame Gallery and Graffiti Gallery and has had a solo show at Starving Artist Gallery in November of 2016. Kadi worked as the Mural Mentor for the West End BIZ last summer and painted a mural with local youth which is located at 555 Ellice Avenue. Her future plans include studying art therapy and continuing to be involved in the art community.

Stop by the Gallery during our opening hours to say hello to Kadi!
