The message printed on the back: “During the early years of this century, pottery manufactured at Chalky Mount, St. Andrew was brought to Bridgetown and sold on the streets by young vendors like these. Among the most popular items were flower pots, pitchers and “monkeys” – a container specially designed to keep water cool for long periods.”
This pen-and-wash drawing was inspired by an old photograph of the era. Each print has been personally inspected for quality and signed by the artist – Patrick Hoyos.
