What’s Happening at St John’s College?
St John’s College is pleased to announce a call for submissions for the 4th Annual St. John’s College Art Competition!
First prize is $300, second prize is $200, and third prize is $100, as
determined by a selected jury. Winners will be announced at a
reception in the Daily Bread Café, sponsored by Ian Park, Food
Services Manager on
Wednesday, March 16, 2016
The submissions will be showcased in the Daily Bread Café at St.
John’s College, a collector of Canadian art. Any University of Manitoba student registered during the 2015-2016
school year may enter. Submissions accepted include: wall pieces,
prints, paintings, and photographs.
Submission deadline is
Friday, February 26, 2016
All submissions must be dropped off in the general office, St John’s
College room 214. When dropping off your piece please include your
full name, title of the piece, artistic medium, phone or email and the price if you wish to sell your piece. Be sure that your art is prepared for hanging on a picture rail system.
You are required to hang your own artwork (or appoint an alternative person to do so) in the Daily Bread Café, on Saturday, February 27, 2016
Following the competition you are also required to take down your own art on Monday, March 21, 2016
St John’s is not responsible for any damaged or missing items and is not
responsible for any work left in the Daily Bread Café following the competition.
