US is a non-profit arts organization that is dedicated to the Aboriginal arts community and the arts community at large. Through it’s programming, US promotes discourse about contemporary Aboriginal art on local, national, and international levels. Through this discussion, it brings together Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities, knowing that contemporary art is an important and empowering tool for Indigenous peoples. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of artists by providing a vehicle for artistic expression in all disciplines and at all levels by taking a leadership role in the cultivation of Indigenous art.

IF YOU ARE AN ARTIST INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING….

The Urban Shaman staff is currently planning our 12th Annual 50 to 500 Members Exhibition + Sale, which takes place beginning of November. This event is a yearly exhibition program to show our appreciation for the members of Urban Shaman. This is also an opportunity for the members to demonstrate what our arts community can offer to the general public.  In order to sell your artwork, Urban requests you must be in good standing or become a member ($20 for low income, $25.00 for regular member and we have a special $40.00 which includes a US t-shirt.  Details on our web site). Pay Pal is available on our website now. Artwork can be priced 50 cents to 500 dollars (thus the name 50 to 500) up to 100% of the profit goes back to the artist.

We are giving a call out ahead for those who want to make their work now and have it ready for November. NO IN TOWN ARTWORK WILL BE TAKEN TILL OCTOBER 13!!!!  Please contact Liz Garlicki at outreach@urbanshaman.org if you wish to participate!!!
