Historica Canada – Aboriginal Arts & Stories contest

Historica Canada is holding a contest called – Aboriginal Arts & Stories, the country’s largest youth arts contest for self-identified Indigenous, Métis and Inuit youth.

We are inviting youth between the ages of 11-29 to submit a piece of artwork or creative writing for a chance to win up to $2000 and have their work exhibited or published in Canada’s History Magazine.  First place winners also receive a paid trip to a major Canadian city to receive their award amongst a well-known group of established artists including Lee Maracle and Drew Hayden Taylor.  Full information about the contest can be found on our website, www.our-story.ca.

This year’s contest deadline is March 31/2015 and we are currently accepting submissions online and by post.  Students do not need to create a new piece of art or story to submit to the contest – they can submit an already existing work.
